Process Engineer (6-month temporary contract) The role involves designing, developing, and validating manufacturing processes, contributing to the buildup of new production cells, and maintaining and improving existing manufacturing methods to support Johnson Controls' capacity expansion plans. How will you do it? Implement, promote, and maintain a safe work environment through accident prevention, investigation, and application of rules, leading by example. Design manufacturing cells and calculate/control optimal capacities of production lines and fabrication processes. Verify time standards and calculate earned hours per family product. Implement engineering changes and facilitate A3 problem solving. Design future state value streams and create technical documentation (standard worksheets, OMS, ODS, FMEA, DFAM, etc.). Contribute to the advancement of the organization in the JCMS and support sharing of best practices from internal and external benchmarking activities. Evaluate and modify layouts of production lines and cells. Lead and update databases that demonstrate optimal product routes, production times, machine assignments, and operator headcount. Work with multidisciplinary groups to implement Lean Manufacturing and reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFEMAs. Drive process-related activities for new product introduction from early planning stages into full production. Coach, mentor, and train manufacturing technicians within the team. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. What are we looking for? Industrial, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering degree. 5+ years of experience in harness manufacturing processes. 3+ years of experience with cable and wire machines and tools: cut, strip, terminate, crimp, terminal punching, wire marking, testers. AutoCAD experience. Spoken and written English proficiency. Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning, and layout. Project management experience and proven record of successful change‑management, continuous improvement, and cost‑reduction programs. Strong communication skills; ability to plan, prioritize, and adapt to changing conditions. Original thinking and creative problem‑solving skills.
