Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and troubleshoot automated material handling systems. In this role, you will focus heavily on developing robust ladder logic programming within Rockwell environments and configuring distributed decentralized I/O systems to ensure maximum system uptime and performance. Key Responsibilities PLC Programming: Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs using Studio 5000 Logix Designer, focusing primarily on structured, clean ladder logic. Version Management: Maintain, deploy, and upgrade software versions across multiple system control panels, handling mainstream implementations on Version 35 while managing and adapting newer panels running on Version 37. Hardware Integration: Configure and interface fieldbus and decentralized I/O systems, integrating Turck I/O modules (including block I/O and I/O-Link masters) with ControlLogix or CompactLogix platforms. System Commissioning: Test and debug control panel wiring, industrial networks (EtherNet/IP), and field devices during the deployment phase of fulfillment system projects. Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex automation sequencing errors, communication faults, or hardware failures to minimize operational bottlenecks. Qualifications & Technical Skillset Required: Studio 5000 Expertise: Proven hands-on experience programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix systems using Logix Designer. Advanced Ladder Logic: Strong background writing and reading complex ladder diagrams for material handling mechanisms (conveyors, sorters, merges). Firmware/Version Exposure: Direct experience working within Studio 5000 Version 35 environments, with the flexibility to navigate and troubleshoot firmware differences on Version 37 panels. Preferred: Turck I/O Systems: Experience configuring, addressing, and mapping Turck distributed I/O modules over EtherNet/IP networks. Industry Background: Prior experience in warehouse automation, logistics, packaging, or heavy material handling industries. Education/Experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical trade experience alongside 3 or more years in a dedicated PLC programming role.
