Overview Oracle Exadata Cloud Service is a critical cloud service that enables automation around the Exadata database server lifecycle. The qualified engineer will solve complex infrastructure cloud problems and build automation to prevent recurrence. Responsibilities include designing, writing, deploying software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services, developing large‑scale distributed system architectures, and facilitating service demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning. Responsibilities Work with Customer Support, Operations, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams on shared full‑stack ownership of services and technology areas. Understand end‑to‑end configuration, technical dependencies, and the overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Design and deliver the mission‑critical stack with a focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Serve as authority for end‑to‑end performance and operability. Partner with development teams to define and implement improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas, guiding development teams to add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Communicate scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as standard operating procedures. Utilize deep understanding of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Maintain professional curiosity and a desire to develop a deep understanding of services and technologies. Build automation code in Python and Perl; familiarity with Exadata architecture and administration is essential.
