Your New Role Our Media Platform Operations team is looking for a highly capable Senior Oracle Database Administrator that can operate effectively without day‑to‑day supervision. You will create and implement standardized database management procedures, oversee the installation, security, and upgrading of our database, and design and develop database systems in partnership with a global team. You will provide guidance to customers on database structures and features, create procedures to enhance scalability and performance, troubleshoot complex database issues, maintain disaster recovery procedures, and stay current with new database technologies to integrate into the existing infrastructure. Your Role Accountabilities Operations / Project Management Coordinate Oracle DBA activities with the infrastructure team to ensure database servers are built to customer requirements on time. Participate in new projects—defining database strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to uphold data integrity and security. Work effectively with a globally dispersed team. Manage and support Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) applications. Perform system administration activities including patching, cloning, backup, and recovery. Resolve issues within EBS and integrated applications. Deploy, upgrade, relocate, and decommission database servers on‑premises and in the cloud. Act as a mentor for Database Administrators and Associate DBAs, providing support, guidance, and problem‑solving assistance. Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 customer support. Strategy Review the existing database monitoring and backup strategy and develop a new strategy based on business requirements. Provide advanced technical support for Oracle EBS and database issues. Help develop and maintain Oracle monitoring tools for database conditions and activities. Collaborate with IT and business leaders to define architecture and roadmaps for future Oracle projects. Identify, propose, and implement new and emerging technologies to support ongoing projects and business operations. Research, develop, and implement new technologies for upcoming projects. Document technical solutions and articulate them to both business and technical audiences. Lead communication with internal and external stakeholders. Analytics Design, implement, and test high‑availability and business‑continuity plans for Tier 1 applications. Lead the development and maintenance of SQL and Linux programs for monitoring database conditions and activities. Identify, propose, and implement new technologies to support ongoing projects and business operations. Create, review, and maintain database documentation. Plan upgrades and re‑platforms to align with the company’s vision. Create documentation for 24/7 operations teams and junior DBAs. Qualifications & Experiences Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience implementing, tuning, and supporting databases with a focus on Oracle. Expert Oracle database administration experience; familiarity with other platforms (SQL Server, SAP Hana, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks) is a plus. Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database tuning. Experience with Oracle EBS R12, Oracle RAC, and Data Guard. Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems. Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Experience working on and maintaining the EXADATA platform. Experience with databases hosted on‑prem and AWS cloud; running AWS RDS databases is required. Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell scripts and Windows BAT scripts. Ability to develop processes and procedures to standardize database installations and configurations. Capability to tackle complex technical problems and devise innovative solutions. Capability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Experience with high‑availability setups (RAC and Oracle Data Guard). Self‑motivated with strong team orientation and a quick learning curve. Good interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Willingness to provide 24/7 support. Preferred Experience Additional experience with Oracle, SAP Hana, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks. Experience with databases on‑prem, AWS, or Azure (PASS and SASS implementations).
