A snapshot of Your Day To support business continuity and the establishment of a new engineering competence center in Mexico, this Specialist Professional role is being created within the Grid Automation Engineering team. The position is essential for delivering electrical system design for projects across the Americas. To achieve this, the role will focus on two primary areas: Electrical System Design & Development and Project Documentation & Compliance. This involves creating detailed electrical designs for substation automation systems and ensuring all project documentation meets engineering standards and contractual requirements. Given the focus on specialized design, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, proven experience with CAD/E-Plan software, and expertise in substation protection and control systems. How you'll Make an Impact 60% Electrical System Design & Development Design and develop electrical control, protection, and automation systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware specifications for high and medium voltage substations. Integrate the electrical wiring architecture of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and communication networks into comprehensive automation solutions. Analyze and interpret single-line and multi-line electrical diagrams to ensure accurate system implementation and to troubleshoot design issues. Provide expert technical support for design and engineering changes during system commissioning, implementation, and troubleshooting processes. 40% Project Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration Manage the creation and maintenance of technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation such as test procedures and system reports. Ensure all designs and documentation comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI), country regulations, and specific customer requirements. Collaborate closely with Protection & Automation engineering, project management, and other departments to deliver integrated and effective design solutions. Review and analyze proposed design changes to determine their effect on the overall system, coordinating modification records for management control. What you bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation Engineering, or a related field. At least 3 years of professional experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for automation solutions. US Visa (B1/B2) is beneficial for potential travel requirements.
