Manufacturing Engineer Senior This position will be responsible for the improvement and sustaining of the existing manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, sheet metal stamping, plastic molding, heat treat, and assembly. It will also support new product introductions (NPI) by designing and implementing new manufacturing processes to improve quality and productivity. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, analytical skills, talent to identify opportunities beyond those already identified, is self‑motivated, can control several projects at the same time, works well under pressure, commits to delivering projects on time, and has hands‑on engineering skills. Key Responsibilities Determine and maintain process specifications for all manufacturing processes in a metal‑mechanic environment. Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes. Elaborate plans to improve efficiency. In coordination with quality, establish action plans to decrease defects. Develop and review standard operating procedures for the process. Identify opportunities to reduce cost and develop implementation plans. Support all manufacturing issues that require engineering expertise. Design tooling and fixtures to increase efficiency. Internal Relations Reports to Manufacturing Engineering Manager II. Interacts with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, and other functional teams on a variety of process issues. Can interact with application engineering and other professionals inside the organization to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives. External Relations Interacts with suppliers as needed. Collaborates with Thomson Customer Service Application Engineers. Measurements SQDIP compliance. Updated product costing. On‑time ECO implementation. Improved productivity. Reduced internal and external defects. Scrap reduction. Requirements for the Position Engineer degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience. High sense of urgency, self‑starter, highly driven, and problem‑solver. Good communication skills, proactive and a team player. Highly organized. Able to handle multiple projects. Fluent English. Knowledge of ERP software (e.g., Oracle, JD Edwards). Process implementation, cell layout, and controls. Lean manufacturing tools knowledge (e.g., VSM, PQPR, 5S, STD Work). Most Important Competencies Required Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills. Six sigma tool experience (desirable). Medium to advanced MS Excel proficiency. Understanding of machining processes and CNC operations. Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T. Computer skills; proficiency in CAD/CAM is a plus. Knowledge of measurement equipment. Application of manufacturing standards (ISO, ASTM). Experience in implementing lean manufacturing tools (desirable). Knowledge of manufacturing costing processes (desirable). Knowledge of heat treat and grinding processes (desirable). Sheet metal and molding process experience is a plus.
