A Snapshot of Your Day You will join a Materials Engineering team responsible for providing technical support across the full product line of Siemens Energy’s aeroderivative gas turbine products—from design and manufacturing to repair and service. In this role, your main responsibility will be to support the production of bearing components, including races, rolling elements (balls), and housings. You will ensure that selected materials and metallurgical processes deliver the required performance, durability, and reliability under demanding operating conditions. Working closely with design, manufacturing and global suppliers, you will support the development and qualification of robust, reliable and cost‑effective materials, components and processes. This role offers a dynamic, fast‑paced and technically challenging environment, with opportunities for occasional on‑site visits to suppliers and manufacturing partners. How You’ll Make An Impact Provide technical input into the selection of materials, heat treatments, surface treatments (e.g., carburizing, nitriding, coatings/plating) and suppliers to meet business needs for bearing components. Approve methods of manufacture and related documentation, including material processing, heat treatment, surface hardening, machining and finishing processes, to ensure components meet design and metallurgical requirements. Review and approve component drawings, drawing changes, repair methods and non‑conformance reports from a materials and process perspective. Assist with root‑cause investigations, particularly where material behavior, heat‑treatment response or surface integrity is a factor (e.g., wear, fatigue, cracking, spalling). Support the development of material, heat‑treatment and surface‑treatment specifications, as well as process capability requirements. Provide technical assessment of supplier capability, including heat treatment, nitriding, plating/coating and precision machining providers. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or a related discipline. ~10 years of experience (flexible) in materials engineering supporting precision or critical rotating components, preferably bearings. Strong expertise in bearing materials and metallurgical processes, including high‑strength steels, heat treatments (carburizing, hardening, tempering) and surface treatments. Knowledge of metallurgical and non‑destructive testing methods. Experience with manufacturing quality systems, non‑conformance handling and process qualification frameworks. Fluent English for global collaboration; willingness to travel up to 20% internationally (French is an asset for Canada). About The Team In the Materials department of the Core Engineering function, we are committed to providing high‑quality technical work in support of AGT programs. From preliminary engine design concepts to in‑service engine support, we cover all aspects of aero‑derivative gas turbine analysis. Leveraging our strong aerospace background, we combine innovation and passion to enable AGT to achieve its goals. Rewards/Benefits Career growth and development opportunities; supportive work culture Company‑paid Health and wellness benefits Paid Time Off and paid holidays Parental leave Opportunity to work with a global team Additional rewards based on your country will be further discussed with the hiring team #J-18808-Ljbffr
