About the role Our client is a world‑class Edtech company that developed a leading platform for high‑stakes test preparation for pre‑law, pre‑med, med‑school students, residents, practicing physicians, PAs, and NPs. They combine technology and powerful data to create innovative, personalized learning experiences. For them, we’re looking for a Business Analyst to work with engineering teams, and collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to deliver innovative ways to serve our learners. What You’ll Do Work with engineering component teams to deliver scalable and extensible software solutions to support business needs. Translate business needs, user needs, and technological capabilities into developer‑oriented user stories and product specifications that will lead to successful implementations. Document detailed acceptance criteria that developers and QA can rely upon to complete their tasks. Drive Agile principles and methodologies, including owning the team backlogs, defining and prioritizing epics, features, user stories, and other artifacts to support development goals. Attend and, as required, lead Agile meetings/ceremonies. Perform acceptance testing of defined scopes, and document detailed steps to reproduce and expected behavior for any found bugs. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of experience as a business analyst or product owner, preferably in a technical role for a SaaS product. Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Figma, with advanced expertise in Jira functionality. Technical fluency – ability to understand, discuss, and challenge architectural concepts, trade‑offs, and new opportunities with technical team members. Hands‑on experience using AI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a product development context and, critically, a practiced eye for validating their output. Excellent written and verbal communication of ideas, narratives, and complex technical information to a broad audience, including but not limited to executives, stakeholders, and engineers. First Month Goals Learn the technical specifics of how Athena features are typically implemented, and how to most effectively ensure successful engineering of new features. Write a sufficient backlog of ready‑for‑dev tickets based on available product plans and high‑level requirements. Create a backlog refinement process alongside Principal TPM to efficiently take new "epic‑level" scopes of work in, identify and describe the technical implementation steps, and bring them successfully through an engineering sprint to deployment.
