We are seeking dedicated Mechatronics or Controls Engineers to join our team and play a key role in the design and implementation of powerful material handling automation systems. This position offers the opportunity to work independently with minimal mentorship across a wide range of responsibilities, including hardware and software design, technical documentation such as calculations, design specifications, and test plans, and leadership of internal and customer-facing technical reviews. You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to the successful execution of multiple medium-to-large projects (typically up to 3,500 controls engineering hours), and collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Responsibilities Electrical (HW) Design: Interpret design input to produce control system designs; prepare and review documentation including design calculations, specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications. Design and production of electrical layouts and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools. Procurement of electrical and control components and liaison with suppliers on technical matters. Communicate progress and status with more senior engineer, Project Lead, or Section Manager. Prepare, review, and present material for technical reviews (internal and for customer). Software Design using prescribed guidelines and policies: design sophisticated conveyor controls software with AB Logix Designer, Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, etc.; configure VFD parameters; create embedded conveyor controller configuration files. Lead software technical review meetings with Standards and SAE Groups. Perform sophisticated conveyor system emulations to ensure functionality of control software and device configurations. Document findings and results according to Dematic standards such as best practices, standard work packages, new processes, application guidelines, and manuals. Communicate, solve and supervise progress status to peers, project leads, and managers; remove roadblocks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree – preferred in Mechatronics Engineering or related Electrical design field. Advanced English – written and oral. 5-8 years of successful experience in related field. +3 years experience in Automation Engineering work environment. +3 years experience in selection of electrical automation components and development of electrical drawings. +3 years experience with PLC software development and/or code debugging (Siemens/Abb/Becoff). +1 year experience on Material Handling Automation projects or environment (desirable). +1 year experience leading team automation projects (desirable).
