Role Overview Ensure the supply of direct and indirect materials to the plant complying with the established quality, delivery and savings guidelines and established production standards, in addition to developing direct and indirect suppliers that are competitive in quality, deliveries and price. Key Responsibilities Material planning and operational execution of sourcing Lead the planning of materials ensuring the correct translation of the demand plan into purchase requirements (MRP), as well as the timely execution of purchase orders. Guarantee the complete supply cycle: placement, confirmation, monitoring and fulfillment of orders, aligning shipment dates with production requirements. Coordinate with planning and logistics the collection, transit and delivery of materials to the plant or point of use, ensuring end‑to‑end visibility, until physical reception. Inventory management and planning parameters Manage inventory levels by defining, calculating, and updating planning parameters, including safety stock, reorder points, and hedging policies. Ensure the correct updating of these parameters in the system, aligning them with the variability of demand, delivery times and operational strategy, to guarantee availability of materials without generating excess inventory, maintaining the integrity and governance of the master data associated with MRP. Supply continuity and supplier management Ensure continuity of supply by meeting on‑time deliveries and effectively managing supplier performance. Negotiate and coordinate with suppliers the allocation of capacity and priorities to meet operational requirements, maintaining the balance between availability of materials, inventory levels and production stability. Strategic Purchasing and Cost Optimization Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness. Push commercial negotiations, and local commodity management, as well as initiatives to promote the improvement of supplier localization, engineering changes and optimisation of the supply base. Development, evaluation and approval of local suppliers Develop and homologate new and existing suppliers ensuring their technical, operational and quality capacity from launch phases to production, mitigating delivery and quality risks through compliance with standards and monitoring of key metrics and implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with current regulations applicable to customs and tax matters in the relationship with suppliers. Asset management in suppliers (tooling and equipment) Manage molds, tools, and equipment assigned to suppliers, ensuring their maintenance, traceability, and proper use. Validate major repairs in conjunction with Operations and Engineering in accordance with internal policies. Indirect Material Purchases Manage the supply of materials and indirect services ensuring operational availability, cost control and alignment with budgets, and maintenance and/or development of inventory control systems, and the development of reliable suppliers. Environmental compliance and internal policies Ensure compliance with environmental policies, internal procedures, and applicable regulations. Critical Competencies for Success Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Completed Engineering (specialty not specified) Minimum 5 years of experience in direct and indirect material purchasing, negotiation strategies internationally is a plus. Knowledge and management of PPV, PPM, OTD and inventory indicators, personnel management, etc. APICS qualification or knowledge of the purchasing structure and demonstrable planning experience (High) Knowledge of product costing ISO/TS (Basic) MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) at an Intermediate level ERP System (SAP, JDE) IMI is an equal opportunity employer.
