Position Summary The Proposal Specialist is an important part of Rockwell Automation's Lifecycle Services business. You are the subject‑matter expert for the sales organization and department on estimation, proposal generation, and approval processes. You work with multiple delivery teams and collaborate with the Application Consultant, who defines the scope with the customer. You will develop commercial offers within our strategic and financial goals, ensuring compliance with internal policies. You must have a general knowledge of all our solution capabilities, partners, and competitors in the designated solution space, and engage with other team consultants to fulfill scope requirements. Responsibilities Employ commercial and technical skills to maximize profit and growth opportunities. Filter opportunities and provide input to increase success through the Win Strategy process. Negotiate pricing, costs, margins, and other commercial terms using a sound understanding of cost, value, and profit margin, and obtain necessary approvals. Convincingly explain our value message and business models in various scenarios, through direct sales channels or distributors. Support proposals with customers, instilling confidence in the proposed solution. Follow all applicable corporate, company, governmental, and regulatory procedures. Engage with sales and customers to follow up on proposals and manage project reviews, including risk analysis. Collaborate with Proposal Specialists, Application Consultants, Sales/Distributors, Channel Partners, RA Departments, Contracts, and Negotiations teams. Obtain approvals in compliance with Rockwell policies, including executive level (PARB) approvals. Coordinate legal terms and conditions with the C&N legal and contracts team, third‑party suppliers, and customers. Maintain proposal tools and facilitate opportunity management, ensuring data quality and automation of critical activities. Seek out and participate in continuous improvement, feedback, and training opportunities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or similar. 5+ years of related experience in an industrial environment (engineering, projects, maintenance, and support). Knowledge of industrial products and applications, including Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell Automation products (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and Rockwell Automation Software). Experience working with third‑party suppliers to provide additional products or services. Two years’ experience in a customer‑facing role, either engineering/ building projects or sales. Ability to work in a matrixed organization team. Demonstrated experience developing proposals, conveying project status updates, design information, technical issues/resolutions, and completing project milestone reviews.
