About the Position: We are looking for a Tooling Manager to join the Manufacturing AL&S team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This position is based at our office in Cd. Juarez, Mex; Plant 1. As the Tooling Manager at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate..... Your Responsibilities will be: Responsibilities for Tool Room Department Management: Manage Tool Room staff and ensure compliance with plant safety regulations. Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and keep KPI charts updated. Control departmental budget and coordinate with suppliers for mold repairs and critical parts. Maintain updated databases and lead weekly meetings to analyze mold performance issues. Implement improvement plans, update SQDCM dashboards, and ensure proper machine/equipment function. Prepare damage and improvement reports, coordinate training, and guarantee proper mold validation and release. Support smooth transition for new projects and keep standards for OES molds current. Ensure accurate recording, uphold department goals, and keep documentation current. Drive mold improvements for production efficiency without risking equipment. Maintain clear communication between shift leaders and conduct regular risk analyses. Workplace Safety, Order, and Cleanliness: Ensure clean and organized workspaces; report unsafe conditions and use proper PPE. Coordinate safety trainings and 5S activities, including equipment checklists and safe operation courses. Support for Production Goals: Participate in multidisciplinary problem‑solving teams and report progress to management. Ensure proper tracking of service orders. Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, TISAX, CSR, and CTPAT standards. Properly manage documentation, identify and report nonconformities, and support system objective fulfillment and dissemination. What Qualifications you will bring: EDUCATION LEVEL: Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. LANGUAGE: Advanced English EXPERIENCE: 10+ years in the automotive industry. 5+ years performing administrative activities related to plastic injection molds. 2 years in development and planning of maintenance plans, TPM implementation and development. Project Management and Control / New Launches. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTING EDUCATION LEVEL: 10+ years working as a Tooling Engineer Other skills that we would welcome: IATF-16949 ISO-14001 ISO-45001 MMS Knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding (RJG) Experience in Simulation and Mechanical Design Mold Flow Interpretation of mold drawings and diagrams Interpretation of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Interpretation of measurement reports Project Management and Control Operation of machines and tools: Milling machine, Lathe, Grinder, CNC equipment Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Proficient with Office software packages Knowledge of CAD / CAM Expectations from you in this position: Lead and supervise the Tool Room department, ensuring all personnel comply with plant safety standards and operational procedures. Oversee maintenance schedules, mold performance KPIs, and continual improvement initiatives for tooling processes. Manage budgets, coordinate with suppliers for mold repairs, critical parts, and oversee new project launches. Maintain up-to-date databases, dashboards, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information for audits and production needs. Implement and monitor preventive maintenance, TPM strategies, and corrective actions based on performance metrics. Drive department goals, process improvements, and facilitate training for staff to meet technical and safety standards. Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and certifications, including IATF-16949, ISO-14001, ISO-45001, MMS, and others. Support production by promptly addressing tooling-related issues, reporting progress to management, and participating in problem‑solving teams. Foster a culture of safety, cleanliness, and organization—promoting the use of PPE and adherence to 5S practices. Demonstrate technical expertise in injection molding, mold flow analysis, mechanical design, GD&T interpretation, and operation of relevant equipment and software (CAD/CAM, CNC, Office).
