Responsibilities Select suppliers for existing products using proven procurement skills in an automotive environment (TS16949, AIAG). Reduce year over year costs through aggressive negotiations, resourcing, market testing, value analysis, long term agreements, business incentives, annual improvement factors, and supply base management. Recommend supplier process utilization by interpreting blueprints and evaluating customer needs. Explore and pursue cost reduction opportunities using cost-model tools and bubble charts. Explore available and new technologies in the market and implement best practices related to purchasing activities. Develop new suppliers that meet BW cost, quality and delivery requirements. Prepare and lead RFQs for multi year full production quantities. Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies. Participate in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management. Support monthly cost reduction reporting with inputs in the relevant commodities. Maintain complex spreadsheets containing supply base data, including piece price breakdowns, part weight, volumes, supplier names, LRP information, etc. Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies. Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies. Communicate and enforce safe work procedures. Identify and close safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings) and their corrective actions. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. 3 to 5 years of automotive and/or manufacturing experience. Proficient in English language skills. At least 1 to 2 years of practical experience in procurement of automotive parts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
