As an Automation Technician at Molex, you will play a vital role supporting Automation Engineers by ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and improvement of automated machinery used in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Your expertise will contribute to machine assembly, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, sensor calibration, and supporting automation activities involving electrical controls, mechanical systems, pneumatics, vision systems, and automation software. You will maintain high standards of safety and quality while driving machine efficiency and uptime. Our Team You will be part of the OSBU division based in Molex Guadalajara El Salto, joining a skilled automation team focused on developing robust, efficient, and scalable automated processes that support manufacturing operations. Our team is actively involved in supporting rapid growth through new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives, offering exposure to cutting-edge automation technologies. What You Will Do Collaborate closely with Automation Engineers, production, maintenance, and NPI teams to assemble, install, maintain, and repair automated machinery. Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and industry standards. Calibrate sensors and troubleshoot control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and vision systems. Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications accurately and promptly, supporting process improvement and traceability. Proactively escalating unresolved technical issues to the appropriate teams or supervisors to maintain operational continuity. Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with safety policies during all maintenance activities. Contribute to machine efficiency improvements by applying basic mechanical design knowledge and programming skills. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technician discipline, preferably in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical fields. Proven experience in automation or maintenance roles within manufacturing or electronic industries. Solid knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, electrical controls, and basic programming. Experience working with PLCs, vision systems (such as Cognex or Keyence), and automation software. Skilled in using diagnostic tools like multimeters and calipers. Ability to perform root cause analysis and solve complex technical problems effectively. Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Willingness to follow safety instructions accurately and maintain a positive attitude. What Will Put You Ahead Experience in manufacturing electronics or automation environments. Technical English communication skills. Intermediate programming skills in languages such as C++ or Python. Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols.
