The Role We are seeking a proactive and highly technical Value Optimization Engineer to drive cost-reduction and value-enhancement strategies for our Chassis systems (including frames, suspension, steering, and braking components). In this fully remote role, you will champion our Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, finding the perfect balance between cost, weight, and performance without compromising safety or quality. If you have a strong engineering background, an analytical mindset, and thrive in an independent, remote-first environment, this is the perfect opportunity to make a massive impact on our bottom line and product evolution. Key Responsibilities VAVE Execution: Lead and execute Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects specifically targeting chassis components and sub-assemblies. Cost Reduction: Identify, propose, and implement design or manufacturing process changes to reduce material and production costs. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with remote teams across Product Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure optimization ideas are viable and implemented smoothly. Benchmarking & Teardowns: Conduct competitive benchmarking and virtual (or coordinated physical) teardown analyses to identify industry best practices and new cost-saving opportunities. Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers to optimize tooling, evaluate alternative materials (e.g., high-strength steel vs. aluminum), and improve manufacturing efficiencies (stamping, casting, forging). Project Tracking: Manage the pipeline of optimization ideas, calculating ROI, tracking implementation timelines, and reporting savings to senior leadership. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Exactly or minimum of 3 years of proven experience in Value Engineering (VAVE), Cost Engineering, or Product Design, preferably within the automotive industry. Specialized Knowledge: Deep technical understanding of Chassis systems and their related manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, forging, machining, stamping, and welding). Technical Skills: Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) to review designs, and proficiency in cost modeling and Excel. Remote Readiness: Excellent time management, self-motivation, and communication skills to thrive in a 100% remote work environment. Language: Advanced/Fluent English (written and spoken) for daily collaboration with global stakeholders.
