The Role As a System Mainframe Support Squad Lead, you will manage and optimize z/OS and z/VM systems in enterprise mainframe environments. You ensure system availability, stability, and operational excellence while providing technical leadership within the support squad. You oversee day‑to‑day support activities, proactively monitor performance, and guide the team in resolving complex technical issues. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you help ensure reliable service delivery and apply best practices across mission‑critical mainframe platforms. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the management and optimization of z/OS and z/VM systems. Ensure system availability and stability through proactive monitoring and timely incident resolution. Guide the squad in analyzing performance issues and applying effective remediation strategies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business operations and implement best practices. Oversee documentation of changes and activities to support audits, compliance, and operational standards. Required Skills And Experience 7+ years of hands‑on experience in mainframe environments. Strong expertise in managing and optimizing z/OS and z/VM systems. Proven experience supporting enterprise mainframe operations with a focus on availability and stability. Leadership capability to guide and support a mainframe support squad. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation, incident reporting, and communication with global teams. Preferred Skills And Experience Experience in enterprise or mission‑critical environments with complex operational requirements. Familiarity with IT operations best practices, incident management, and compliance processes. Ability to mentor team members and drive continuous improvement within the support squad.
