Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Superintendent. What you’ll do: Job Summary: Provides primary technical support to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager as the operational right‑hand for plant strategy execution. Acts as the strategic partner and key point of contact for Focus Factory Managers to ensure assembly line continuity and efficiency. Responsible for leading the engineering team in the expert application of Shainin (Red X) and Six Sigma to resolve complex technical issues, while ensuring the promotion and contribution to MESH (Safety), EBS (Eaton Business System), and EQMS (Eaton Quality Management System). Job Responsibilities: Coordinates daily engineering activities to provide immediate support to Focus Factory Managers, eliminating technical roadblocks on the assembly lines. Promotes and guarantees compliance with MESH safety regulations, EBS business processes, and EQMS quality standards across all engineering operations. Guides the Manufacturing Engineering and Technician team in the use of Shainin (Red X) and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate chronic manufacturing defects and quality failures. Maintains process stability by ensuring Cpk ≥ 1.33 in all critical operations and directs corrective actions when statistical drifts are detected. Leads the multidisciplinary review and update of PFMEAs, prioritizing the reduction of Action Priority (AP) through robust Poka‑Yokes and detection improvements. Achieves scrap reduction and yield improvement targets through the execution of continuous improvement projects and Lean tools (VSM, Line Balancing, SMED). Monitors production performance utilizing Industry 4.0 tools and MES data to identify trends, accelerate troubleshooting, and prevent downtime. Trains and develops the technical competencies of direct and indirect reports, fostering a culture of rigorous root cause analysis (8D) and execution excellence. Collaborates with the Tooling and Maintenance departments to ensure correct equipment specifications and a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for manufacturing assets. Qualifications: Education level required: Engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, or Industrial. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Years and area of experience required: 5 years. Technical knowledge: Advanced proficiency in product drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications. Mastery of PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC. Expertise in the design, implementation, and verification of poka‑yokes (mechanical, electronic, and visual) to eliminate human error in assembly. Advanced knowledge of Shainin (Red X) and Six Sigma methodologies. Expert in Lean manufacturing tools: layout, VSM, SMED, and standard work. Experience in high‑volume assembly, poka‑yoke sensors, vision systems, and automated testers. Experience integrating digital error‑proofing and real‑time interlocking systems (Industry 4.0).
