The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and approving business opportunities through comprehensive credit and financial risk assessments, ensuring full alignment with internal policies and the company’s risk appetite. This role manages an assigned portfolio and supports new client acquisitions across diverse industries, partnering closely with the commercial team to structure sound, sustainable financial solutions. The primary objective is to safeguard portfolio quality and profitability by maintaining disciplined risk management standards and consistently contributing to the organization’s strategic objectives. Credit Analysis and Approval Evaluate, structure, and approve business opportunities through comprehensive financial and qualitative analysis. Prepare and present credit proposals to the committee, including collateral analysis, financial projections, and risk assessment. Lead due diligence processes and conduct client interviews. Ensure compliance with internal policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements (AML, KYC, credit bureau). Portfolio Management and Business Support Manage and monitor the assigned portfolio to maintain active credit lines, renewals, and approved amendments. Collaborate with commercial teams and cross‑functional areas on pipeline follow‑up and transaction structuring. Conduct client visits and calls to ensure ongoing monitoring and continuous risk assessment. Formalize and onboard approved credit lines, ensuring complete documentation and compliance with internal requirements. Strategic Projects and Development Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and artificial intelligence projects applied to credit analysis. Contribute to and participate in training and development activities within the underwriting team. Education and Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial institutions, specifically in credit analysis, underwriting, and credit risk assessment. Experience presenting cases to credit committees and making well‑founded decisions. Experience in portfolio management and monitoring.
