Data Security Architect Join our team as a Data Security Architect to shape data protection across the organization. Responsibilities Defining and establishing security protection programs for data, software, and systems through risk management protection and governance programs across all technical domains. Driving the security posture and defining risk levels and mitigating controls based on emerging threats and actors. Presenting project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders and occasionally to senior leaders in partner technical teams. Communicating solutions across own function and with cross‑functional partner organizations. Defining and maintaining data loss prevention policies based on business and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with business units to understand data protection needs and ensure the appropriate protection and handling of sensitive data. Developing and implementing data retention and disposition policies to ensure compliance with retention requirements and relevant regulations. Staying updated on the latest data protection regulations and best practices to ensure the organization’s data protection policies remain current and effective. Providing training and support to end users on data protection best practices, tools, and policies. Qualifications Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Have a minimum 12 years of experience in Cyber Security Architecture. Be proficient in using Microsoft Purview or similar data governance and protection tools. Have relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator or similar credentials would be beneficial. Have CISSP, CISM, or related security certifications preferred. Show oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrate ability to lead programs/projects. Have documentation and planning skills. Established project management skills. Be able to analyze and interpret data protection metrics and reports to identify trends and potential issues. Be fluent in English.
