Job Description The Mechanical Engineer II will primarily support R&D efforts by leading tasks and small sustaining projects, including product testing, characterization, and implementation of design changes to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Working with moderate independence and under the guidance of senior engineers, this role contributes to new product development as an extended core team member, provides technical support for existing products, and ensures thorough documentation of design updates and validation results. The position emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration, active participation in continuous improvement initiatives, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards to support successful project execution and business objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead large tasks or small sustaining projects by executing product testing / characterization and supporting change implementation to optimize production functionality and manufacturability. Support new product development projects as an extended core team member under the guidance of senior engineers, as needed. Provide technical support for the current product line, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability under the guidance of other engineers. Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications. Conduct testing and validation of design changes to ensure they meet performance and safety criteria. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S events, Problem Solving Process, and Value Stream mapping; effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet business objectives. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and quality. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally. Job Requirements Qualifications Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may change rapidly. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience required, OR high school or equivalent plus 6 years of relevant work experience required. Experience managing projects of low complexity required. Familiarity with project‑management systems (e.g., Microsoft Project, Workfront) required. Skills and Abilities Familiarity with design‑control deliverables including design trace matrices, risk‑management documents, and design or toll‑gate reviews. Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and simulation extension tools required. Proficiency with electro‑mechanical systems design required. Familiarity with injection molding, rapid prototyping, and CNC programming/machinery required. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required. Ability to quickly learn business systems required. Good verbal and technical written communication skills in English required. Ability to build strong partnerships with other departments.
