Responsible for leading the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with all company quality policies and customer requirements within an automotive manufacturing environment. About the Role Leads Quality and Engineering activities as area manager, verifying adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements, and applying Core Tools (APQP and related quality methodologies) to drive product and process quality. Responsibilities Lead the Quality area (Engineering and Quality) and ensure departmental execution aligned to plant and production priorities. Verify compliance with corporate quality policies and safety/hygiene requirements. Ensure understanding and execution of customer requirements. Manage materials out of specification activities: detect issues on the production floor, evaluate production rejects linked to material, and elaborate material deviations. Perform internal quality system audits and ensure follow-up of audit findings. Define and establish quality criteria, leveraging probability/statistics for decision-making. Launch and manage internal/external corrective and preventive actions (assign owners, verify effectiveness, and confirm implementation). Coordinate customer complaints and supplier‑related problems using 8D methodology; lead communication and meeting follow‑up. Establish annual quality objectives and support related training plans with the plant/powertrain leadership. Monitor monthly customer performance ratings and required customer portal activities. Coordinate the team to execute containment, corrective, and preventive actions. Plan, schedule, and administer quality projects requested by the immediate manager. Participate as part of the company’s internal quality auditors group. Qualifications Automotive industry experience: 5+ years. Gerente de Calidad experience: 3+ years in a Quality Manager role (overall quality leadership). Experience leading the Quality area and coordinating Engineering/Quality functions. IATF 16949. VDACore Tools (incl. APQP). Advanced English skills (90% spoken and written). Engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics, or related field. Ability to travel to the United States (passport/visa required). Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. Customer service orientation and strong ownership of corrective actions.
