Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Sr. Extruder Engineer is responsible for evaluating, developing, and optimizing extrusion processes at Spectra-Strip. This role involves performing tests, designing technical solutions, taking measures, interpreting data, and ensuring high process performance. The Sr. Extruder Engineer will provide technical support and guidance to process engineers and technicians to improve productivity, standardize operations, and resolve complex extrusion issues. This position requires rotation across production shifts, following the current four‑shift structure operating 24/7 with 12‑hour schedules. Responsabilidades Design, develop, and enhance extrusion processes to optimize production efficiency and performance. Manage and coordinate technical projects, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain process documentation, including Technical Reviews (TR) with FMEA, control plans, tooling, equipment, and entitlement analysis. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of project objectives. Train IDL personnel in understanding and applying standard operating procedures. Create, update, and validate machine recipes and process profiles. Develop continuous improvement plans through product and technology upgrades, contributing directly to P&L performance and financial margin improvement. Coordinate NPI (New Product Introduction) activities to ensure smooth launch of new products that meet quality, productivity, and efficiency requirements. Spectra‑Strip site’s standardization practices. Requisitos +5 years of experience in the extrusion process. Experience working with multifunctional teams. Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field. Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non‑technical audiences. Customer‑focused mindset. Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems. Detail‑oriented with the ability to catch minor errors that can result in major problems. Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously in the Extrusion process. Proven knowledge of the Extrusion process.
