We are hiring: Project Cost Engineer – Interior Trim Systems (Automotive) We are looking for a Project Cost Engineer to join the Interior Systems team supporting the MEX VCP Uplift “BOT” Program for a leading global OEM. This role focuses on cost estimation, analysis, and optimization for interior trim components within vehicle programs. Technical Scope Develop detailed should-cost models for interior trim components and assemblies Perform bottom-up cost analysis including raw material, labor, overhead, scrap, tooling, and logistics Evaluate plastic injection molding, thermoforming, wrapping, painting, and assembly processes to identify cost drivers Conduct supplier quotation analysis (RFQ) and validate commercial proposals against technical assumptions Build and maintain cost databases and parametric cost models for interior systems Support design-to-cost (DTC) and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives Benchmark component costs using historical data, market intelligence, and competitor analysis Estimate tooling investments and amortization for production programs Perform make vs. buy analysis to support sourcing decisions Track cost changes throughout program development from sourcing through launch Perform target cost gap analysis and recommend recovery opportunities Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to achieve program cost targets Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in cost engineering or technical engineering Experience within OEM or Tier 1 automotive suppliers preferred Strong understanding of design, manufacturing processes, and cost analysis Experience with interior trim systems is highly preferred Strong Excel and cost modeling skills Intermediate English (professional working level) Details Location: Near Santa Fe Technical Center (Mexico City area) or open to relocation #J-18808-Ljbffr
