Role As Quality Manager, you will own the Total Quality Management (TQM) system, overseeing Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) throughout the product lifecycle—from development to manufacturing. Your responsibilities include managing regulatory affairs, ensuring successful implementation, renewal, and maintenance of critical certifications (USDA Organic, FSSC22000, Kosher, and others), and leading the Analytical Development Function. Responsibilities Maintain and Improve Quality Standards : Ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications, continuously refining standards for product safety and integrity. Manage Quality Systems : Lead implementation, updates, and upgrades of Birdman’s Quality Systems to meet the highest benchmarks. Plan and Execute QA/QC Activities : Oversee assurance and control processes from development through production. Oversee Laboratory and Analytical Development Operations : Manage laboratory functions, develop analytical methods, and standardize testing of raw materials and finished products. Implement Continuous Improvement Methods : Develop and execute improvement initiatives to enhance QC and QA across all stages. Define Specifications : Establish raw material, product, and process specifications aligned with customer needs. Validate Processes : Confirm that all materials, products, and processes meet defined specifications. Guarantee Legal and Regulatory Compliance : Manage regulatory affairs, including operational permits, product classifications, and marketing approvals for Mexico and international markets. Ensure Regulatory Compliance in Communications : Oversee product communications to meet regulatory standards and maintain transparency. Lead Environmental and Occupational Safety : Direct the Environmental and Occupational Safety department, ensuring best practices and a safe workplace. Manage Complaints System : Conduct root‑cause analyses to prevent non‑compliant products and improve customer satisfaction. Team Leadership : Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing quality team. Steward Product Development : Collaborate with product development to resolve deviations from quality standards. Manage Audits and Certifications : Lead Birdman through quality, certification, and regulatory audits and ensure successful renewal. Basic Requirements Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, QFB, or related field. Master’s in Quality Systems preferred. Experience : Minimum 7 years in manufacturing within supplements, food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries; at least 3 years as a Quality Manager. Quality Systems Expertise : Proven experience managing QMS and renewing FSSC22000 certifications (or equivalent); preferably implemented from scratch. Certifications : FSSC22000 auditor certification required; auditor experience in USDA Organic, Kosher, Halal, COFEPRIS GMP, and FDA FSMA highly desirable. Laboratory and Analytical Methods : Knowledge of laboratory management and analytical method development. Regulatory Knowledge : In‑depth understanding of Mexican regulations (COFEPRIS) and international regulations (Latam, USA, Europe). Regulatory Experience : Experience with COFEPRIS, FDA, INVIMA, etc. Skills : Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities in fast‑paced environments. Language Proficiency : Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish. Leadership & Cultural Fit : Ability to build, mentor, and lead high‑performing teams with an intrapreneurial mindset. Desired Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Haves) Master’s Degree in Quality Management.
