Role Summary As a statutory accountant for LATAM you will prepare the statutory accounting, planning, and audit with all related internal stakeholders (R2R, AP, Treasury) and external stakeholders (Auditors, TAX) for several entities. The statutory specialist ensures the proper statutory accounting of the balance sheet and income statement of Vernova HQ entities. Responsibilities Manage statutory reporting of 13 LATAM GEV legal entities Set up, reconcile and maintain USGAAP to local GAAP adjustments Identify the standard differences (Stat To GAAP) – permanent or temporary – between US GAAP and Local GAAP Ensure all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently, and in compliance with local regulatory requirements Act as primary point‑of‑contact for VHQ businesses for queries relating to local regulatory timelines, process steps, and status updates in terms of statutory preparation and audit Manage relations with external and internal auditors Manage tax audits for accounting aspects Support changes in legal organization structure, including Mergers, Acquisitions and Dispositions, and related accounting and finance projects such as system migration and process simplification Support initiatives aimed at improving or modifying accounting systems and processes, and back initiatives aimed at reducing redundant or inefficient activities Implement consistent and effective processes and controls across monthly, quarterly, and daily accounting processes within the Vernova headquarters team Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in accounting, finance, or a business‑related field and significant progressive accounting or finance experience. Extensive experience working with financial systems including, but not limited to, Oracle, Hyperion, Business Objects, and other related tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex business issues clearly. Strong analytical skills, able to link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives, and drive positive change. Proven problem‑solving and project‑management skills in operations or finance functions. Integrity and adherence to high moral, ethical, and personal values. Desired Characteristics / Qualifications Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional teams or in a matrixed organization with sound understanding of global processes and transactional flows. Prior experience or exposure working with GE’s financial/operational processes and IT applications is preferred; commensurate experience in other organizations will be considered. Strong understanding of risks and controls, able to apply them to achieve business objectives. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Adaptable and flexible, able to work beyond role boundaries and with uncertainty, and embrace change in response to new information or unexpected circumstances.
