Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join its Accounting team. This role is key in ensuring the accuracy of retail sales reporting, reconciling payment platforms, and supporting the month‑end close process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, hands‑on, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, with strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to maintain accurate financial data and improve processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain and prepare financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations Perform credit card and payment platform reconciliations Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reporting Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and variance analysis Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly Process accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and analysis Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies Collaborate with Retail Operations and IT teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes Contribute to financial analysis and process improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 1–3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience working in fast‑paced environments with strict deadlines Strong organizational and multitasking skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting Required Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, INDEX‑MATCH; Macros are a plus) Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1–C2 required) Nice to Have Experience with D365 Business Central (ERP) Experience with Shopify (e‑commerce platform) Experience with KWI (Retail POS platform) #J-18808-Ljbffr
