Responsibilities Lead the migration of SQL Server and PostgreSQL workloads to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances. Design, deploy, and support Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) and Database‑as‑a‑Service (DBaaS) offerings in Azure. Analyze and consolidate database instances to optimize performance, licensing, and cost. Implement Azure‑native backup, replication, disaster recovery, and security configurations. Qualifications Strong hands‑on experience with Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instances, and related Azure data services. Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and database consolidation strategies. Experience in migrating legacy Unix/Linux‑based databases to modern cloud environments. Familiarity with Azure automation, monitoring, and security tools. Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in a global environment. Experience with regulated data environments (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus. Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience. Alternatively, high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure SQL or similar cloud database platforms. Demonstrated experience with database migration projects from on‑premise to cloud. Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP‑300) are highly desirable. Willingness to participate in after‑hours support and system maintenance.
