At Clarios, the Senior Embedded Software Engineer plays a critical role in developing embedded software for automotive energy storage and battery management systems (BMS) used by global OEM customers. This role combines deep AUTOSAR expertise with strong software requirements management, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality software across the full V‑model lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and integrate embedded software for battery management systems, energy storage controllers, and related electronic modulesDesign and implement software based on AUTOSAR Classic architecture (Adaptive a plus where applicable)Author, decompose, and manage software requirements aligned to system, safety, and customer specificationsMaintain end‑to‑end requirements traceability (system software code test)Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Functional Safety, Validation, and ManufacturingConfigure and integrate AUTOSAR BSW, MCAL, and SW‑Cs using industry toolsEnsure compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and Clarios’ internal product development standardsSupport customer technical reviews, software audits, and OEM change requestsPerform code reviews, design reviews, and requirements quality checksLead root cause analysis and resolution of complex system‑level issuesMentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of Clarios software practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field7+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive electronicsStrong hands‑on experience with AUTOSAR ClassicProven experience in software requirements management, including:Requirements authoring and decompositionChange and impact analysisTraceability using tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or CodeBeamerProficiency in C (C++ a plus) for embedded systemsExperience with microcontrollers, RTOS, and low‑level driversStrong understanding of V‑model development and safety‑critical softwareExperience working in a global, matrixed engineering organizationPreferred / Clarios‑Relevant ExperienceExperience with battery management systems (BMS), power electronics, or energy storage productsFamiliarity with AUTOSAR configuration tools (e.g., DaVinci Configurator, EB tresos)Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS, Ethernet)Exposure to functional safety assessments, safety requirements, and safety mechanismsExperience supporting OEM customer engagements and technical reviewsModel‑based development (MATLAB/Simulink) experiencePrior technical leadership or lead‑engineer responsibilityAbout Clarios:Clarios is the global leader in advanced, low-voltage battery technologies for mobility.
