Trim Engineer - Entry Level. Education: Last semester of engineering, textiles, industrial design, etc. (or other suitable technical degree preferred). None to 1 year job related experience (preferable). Technical Skills Seat Patterning – Able to complete seat patterns. Understanding and applying one or more basic problem-solving techniques (e.g., BEP, Kepner‑Tregoe, Six‑Sigma, etc.) to help solve a real‑world issue. Knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements of a trim cover. Understanding and basic operation of seat equipment used in trim cover manufacturing (NC cutter, sewing machines, etc.). Trim cover sewing safety requirements within a trim cover. Knowledge of standard components used within a trim cover. Knowledge of material specifications and guidelines (cloth, leather, vinyl, etc.). Understanding of 2D component and product drawings. Change management and BOM control. Proficiency in trim cover development from a 2D or 3D information source (e.g., drawings or CAD). Basic understanding of 3D CAD models and vehicle environments. Soft Skills Accountable ownership.
