Trim Engineer - Entry Level. Education: Last semester of engineering, textiles, industrial design, etc. (or other suitable technical degree preferred). None to 1 year job related experience (preferable). Technical Skills Seat Patterning – Able to complete seat patterns. Understanding and applying one or more basic problem-solving techniques (e.g., BEP, Kepner‑Tregoe, Six‑Sigma, etc.) to help solve a real‑world issue. Knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements of a trim cover. Understanding and basic operation of seat equipment used in trim cover manufacturing (NC cutter, sewing machines, etc.). Trim cover sewing safety requirements within a trim cover. Knowledge of standard components used within a trim cover. Knowledge of material specifications and guidelines (cloth, leather, vinyl, etc.). Understanding of 2D component and product drawings. Change management and BOM control. Proficiency in trim cover development from a 2D or 3D information source (e.g., drawings or CAD). Basic understanding of 3D CAD models and vehicle environments. Soft Skills Accountable ownership. Customer care. Willing to learn. Time management. Planning. Self‑motivated. Able to work in a challenging environment. Additional Requirements English: Able to keep mid‑level conversation (must).
