Supplier Development Engineer This role reports directly to the Senior SDE Manager and supports EII Projects in North America for PMR (Relays Plant), Supplier Selection & Qualification projects, escalations on Supplier Quality Incidents, and leads Supplier Development activities such as Safe Launch programs, Supplier Risk Management, Continuous Improvement Plans, and Surveillance Quality System Audits. Responsibilities Conduct on‑site audits and risk assessments for new and current suppliers, working with suppliers to develop capable and stable manufacturing processes. Collaborate with Procurement’s strategy to establish a supply base capable of meeting the requirements of various business units across the company. Identify critical risk suppliers, work with affected suppliers to develop and implement "get‑well" plans until performance improves. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Establish robust material qualification process (PPAP) to ensure all materials are properly qualified before release for production – covering new materials and engineering changes. Track SDE metrics such as Supplier Quality Incident, Supplier DPPM, Audit Schedule Hit Rate, and Audit Average Score. Partner with suppliers and internal cross‑functional teams to drive and implement improvement actions. Monitor supplier scorecards. Participate in New Product Development activities related to suppliers and materials. Review and approve supplier and material related engineering changes. Qualifications Engineering degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality / Supplier Development. Experience with ISO, IATF 16949 and core tools – FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA. Knowledge of VDA 6.3 auditing. Strong analytical skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Office and basic knowledge of SAP. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and shift priorities as necessary. Good organizational skills.
