Monterrey, Mexico Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role blends engineering principles with quality management to prevent defects, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance. The QE focuses on both quality assurance (prevention) and quality control (detection), working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. As the Mexico Quality Team continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership capabilities and position yourself for future advancement into a Quality leadership role. You will report to the Quality Leader for Mexico. Responsibilities Develop and implement quality standards, inspection procedures, and testing protocols. Monitor production processes, conduct audits, and perform root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA). Analyze data using statistical methods (SPC, capability studies) to drive process improvements. Manage non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and supplier quality. Collaborate with design, production, and engineering teams on new product introductions (NPI). Prepare documentation, host audits, and support customer requirements (PPAP, FAI). Maintain updated documentation and contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS). Key Areas of Responsibility Resolve customer non-conformances using 8D reports and coach manufacturing partners on root cause analysis. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with sourcing and manufacturing partners. Strengthen the quality management system to reduce defect rates and improve customer confidence. Collaborate with global counterparts (China, India, US) to standardize best practices. Perform on-site inspections at manufacturing partners and internal inspections. Support customer approvals for new product introductions (PPAP). Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in sheet metal, welding, and CNC machining processes. Experience with PPAP documentation and new product launches. Knowledge of Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies). Fluency in English and Spanish. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with strong time management skills and ability to work independently. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings with GD&T. Experience preparing 8D reports. Internal Quality Auditor certification (ISO 9001:2015 / IATF 16949) – preferred. Experience with inspection using measurement equipment.
