Job Title :: Sr BI Architect Location :: Guadalajara, MX (Onsite) Job Type :: Contract Key Responsibilities BI Architecture & Solution Design • Design and implement scalable Business Intelligence architectures and semantic data models. • Develop enterprise-grade dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions using Looker. • Define BI standards, governance models, reusable frameworks, and reporting best practices. • Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions. Looker & LookML Development • Build, optimize, and maintain LookML models, explores, views, and dashboards. • Develop reusable semantic layers and governed metrics for enterprise reporting. • Optimize Looker performance, query efficiency, and dashboard usability. • Troubleshoot complex LookML and modeling issues across multiple datasets and domains. SQL & Data Engineering Support • Write advanced and optimized SQL queries for large-scale analytical workloads. • Perform root cause analysis for reporting discrepancies, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks. • Support data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities across BI platforms. • Collaborate with data engineering teams on warehouse design, transformations, and pipeline optimization. L3 Technical Support & Governance • Act as the escalation point for critical BI production issues and complex analytical problems. • Provide hands-on technical support for business-critical dashboards and reporting systems. • Lead incident triage, defect resolution, and performance tuning activities. • Mentor junior BI engineers and establish technical standards across the BI ecosystem. Stakeholder & Program Collaboration • Work closely with business stakeholders to prioritize reporting enhancements and analytical capabilities. • Support roadmap planning, estimation, and delivery governance for BI initiatives. • Drive continuous improvements in reporting accuracy, reliability, and user experience. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Strong expertise in SQL with experience optimizing complex analytical queries. • Deep hands-on experience with Looker and LookML development. • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and BI architecture principles. • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and cloud data platforms. • Expertise in dashboard performance optimization and reporting scalability. • Experience troubleshooting production BI systems and resolving data inconsistencies. Preferred Experience • Experience with GCP data ecosystem including Google Cloud BigQuery. • Exposure to ETL/ELT workflows and data transformation frameworks. • Experience working in Agile delivery environments. • Familiarity with data governance, access controls, and reporting compliance standards. • Experience supporting executive dashboards and enterprise analytics platforms. Experience Required • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or BI Architecture. • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Looker and LookML. • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale BI environments and stakeholder-facing analytics solutions. • Strong experience in L3 production support and incident management for BI platforms. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field. • Master’s degree preferred.
