EOL Diagnostics Engineer This role involves development and application of engineering practice and knowledge in the following technologies: design of mechanical systems, devices, equipment and machines; installing and maintaining mechanically functioning equipment; simulating a wide range of interactions and evaluating performance in real‑world scenarios; and developing prototypes for manufacturability, testing, and validation. YOUR ROLE The engineer shall provide support for verification/validation/DVP design for Integrated SW Qualification Testing, support for vehicle builds and high voltage testing for Propulsion System Service, and EOL/plant support for End of Line activities. Job Duties Control validation support: integrated SW qualification testing including verification, design validation plan design, validation (diagnosis and functional requirements). Responsible for gathering and developing requirements for the assigned feature. Propulsion system support during the complete development process, starting with mule vehicle commissioning and related issue fixes. High voltage test bench commissioning and test execution. High voltage safety test portion execution. First level analysis of remotely logged data and fleet support by means of on‑site fixes. YOUR PROFILE Definition of an EOL norm to properly test electrified propulsion systems at the vehicle EOL. Support the EOL/plant activities, fix eventual issues and perform EOL norm testing on vehicles in advance of usage at the plant. The engineer will work inside the ePT Verification Team executing Design Verification Plan starting from development, bringing experience and troubleshooting capabilities to after sales activities. Support Controls, Calibration, and Validation teams during development and field issue resolution. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university. Experience in developing diagnostic content for electrified propulsion systems and conventional systems. Knowledge of Diagnostic Protocols (Keyword 2000 and UDS). Knowledge of CAN messaging structure & protocol for the CAN‑Bus layer. Knowledge of electrical systems test interface tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good understanding of vehicle propulsion system (conventional and/or electrified) and experience developing sophisticated diagnostic strategies, such as aftertreatment diagnostics, evaporative leak detection diagnostics, or comprehensive component monitoring including automatic learnings. Familiarity with programming in C++, MATLAB/Simulink, pseudo code modification. Utilizing a multi‑functional tool chain, requiring familiarity with IBM Rational ALM, ONG, etc. Experience working with multi‑discipline engineering teams to develop diagnosability and maintainability strategies for the propulsion system.
