Overview The Manufacturing Engineers serves as a liaison to management on manufacturing, quality, process and engineering related issues. The manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical support of the product line, providing technical support and typically handling production areas, projects, documentation, lean initiatives, cost reductions, equipment, process and safety. They assess anticipated needs for the business and find solutions to problems that impact production and quality, and they communicate proactively with production associates and business management. Responsibilities Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Management to develop solutions, programs and procedures. Maintain in-depth knowledge of lean and manufacturing programs to eliminate paint booth bottlenecks and inefficiencies, balancing paint processes, reducing set‑ups, improving yield, and optimizing space. Work closely with Safety and Health departments to ensure the production area, tooling and fixtures are designed ergonomically and safely. Develop cost reduction ideas through process design, acquisition of tooling, capital equipment or documentation improvements. Provide day‑to‑day guidance to management and/or associates on potential changes that impact production line volumes, quality, safety, or deliveries. Oversee the transition of products from internal and external sources to the manufacturing plant, including buy‑vs‑make decisions and job‑move programs from other countries. Document products using Bills of Materials, Routers, Value Stream Maps, Flow charts, spreadsheets, drawings, videos or digital photos; create Engineering deviations or changes. Plan preventative and reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment, and set up programs that provide high OCE. Oversee capital equipment and small tooling required for the assigned manufacturing or quality area; may be required to program, calibrate and adjust machines. Utilize software for documentation and drawing of products, such as Auto‑Cad, PRO‑E or other as required. Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs, following up to ensure training objectives are met. Implement appropriation requests for machines, software, or tooling through written documentation with supporting information. Guarantee the compliance of company procedures and policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering. At least four (4) years of high‑level experience in manufacturing or engineering. Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure. Self‑starter: ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence. Fluency in English and Spanish (read, write and speak). Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced PowerPoint. Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Engineering or Manufacturing. Experience with drafting tools such as PRO‑E, Auto‑Cad or others. Familiarity with electrical schematics. Six Sigma or other SPC quality tools. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ethics and integrity. Analysis, problem solving and decision making. Detail oriented with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Time Travel Required 10% or less.
