What You Will Do Drive drug discovery programs by developing and applying innovative AI/ML models. Collaborate with experimental scientists to connect computational predictions with lab experiments; support hypothesis testing and iterate between modeling and experimental results. Lead development of scientific foundation models integrating molecular design and biological data to enable decision-making across the drug discovery pipeline. Publish findings in top-tier venues and represent Lilly within the AI4Science community. Partner with MLOps and Data Engineering to transition prototypes into scalable tools; learn guidelines for reusable, reliable AI/ML solutions. Minimum Qualifications PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, Physics, or a Scientific field. First-author publications in high-impact journals or top-tier ML conferences. Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and molecular-data architectures (e.g., GNNs, Transformers). Preferred Qualifications Ability to translate chemistry/biology problems into ML formulations. Experience collaborating with lab scientists to drive iterative experimentation and model refinement.
