Company Overview Anchor Co-Living provides transitional and supportive housing for people on Medi‑Cal who need a safe place to recover, stabilize, and move forward. We support California's CalAIM Community Supports program and partner with Medi‑Cal health plans across five California counties. We are a small, growing team, and this role has a direct impact on how quickly members get placed into care. The Opportunity This is a strong fit for someone who combines calm, compassionate phone presence with accurate, persistent follow‑through on healthcare authorizations. You will be the link between an inbound referral and an approved member move‑in, helping hospitals, health plans, and families navigate urgent situations with clarity and speed. For the right person, this is a chance to take ownership of a mission‑critical process and build deeper experience in intake, prior authorization, and Medi‑Cal operations. What You’ll Do Serve as the first point of contact for inbound referrals from hospital discharge planners, MCP care coordinators, county behavioral health teams, and community partners. Turn each call into a complete, actionable referral by gathering the right information, verifying Medi‑Cal eligibility and MCP enrollment, and documenting the case accurately. Submit authorization requests to the appropriate Medi‑Cal health plan and manage follow‑up until each case is approved, pended, or denied. Resolve denials by identifying the issue, securing missing documentation, and resubmitting clean requests quickly. Maintain a clear audit trail in the EHR and hand off approved members smoothly to regional Community Managers. Spot eligibility, documentation, and compliance gaps early so they do not become avoidable delays or denials. What Success Looks Like In the first 6 to 12 months, success in this role will look like: Consistently logging referrals within 15 minutes of call completion and maintaining accurate, complete records. Submitting clean authorization requests to the correct health plans with minimal rework. Reducing delays by proactively identifying missing documentation or eligibility issues before submission. Following authorizations daily and helping move qualified members from referral to approval efficiently. Building trust with referral partners by being warm, organized, and reliable on every interaction. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who can handle both sides of the job well: compassionate communication and detail‑heavy execution. 2+ years of experience in healthcare intake, prior authorization, or medical billing. Hands‑on experience submitting authorizations to U.S. health plans. Comfort using payer portals, EHR systems, and documentation workflows. Working knowledge of ICD‑10 codes and basic medical terminology. Fluent professional English, spoken and written. Availability to work the full Pacific Time schedule each weekday. A private home office and wired internet connection of at least 50 Mbps. Especially valuable experience includes Spanish fluency, direct familiarity with California Medi‑Cal or CalAIM Community Supports, denial and appeal handling, and work in behavioral health, substance use, or housing services. A degree is not required. Compensation and Benefits $10‑$13 USD per hour. 1099 contractor role. 40 hours per week. Equipment stipend after 90 days. Structured onboarding with one week of paired training. Direct access to your supervisor for support and decision‑making. Clear written expectations and feedback. 90‑day check‑in with a path to increased pay based on performance. Work Location / Schedule Remote role based in Latin America. Candidates should be located in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, or another LatAm country with stable infrastructure. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time. How to Apply If you are confident on the phone, strong with authorization workflows, and motivated by work that helps people access care and housing, we’d like to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
