Company Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Position Title Senior Stress Engineer III - GAC Mexicali Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job. Position Purpose The Stress group substantiates structural integrity for all engineering changes in Gulfstream models by performing detailed stress analysis using FEM and hand calculations. Knowledge of design configuration, load paths, mechanical properties, FAR Part 25 regulations, and diverse analysis techniques is required to substantiate aircraft structure. Essential Functions Perform stress analysis and document certification stress reports summarizing all calculations and critical margins of safety. Provide technical support to diverse engineering groups throughout the entire design and operation build processes. Ensure that all structural analysis and rationale used in design changes that require Stress signature meet Gulfstream stress criteria and FAA regulations. Perform Stress Checks for aircraft interior structural substantiation reports, stress reports, and design substantiations. Provide design solutions for new custom engineering for the design team, mentoring and feedback to the stress team. Generate hand calculation analysis, medium‑complexity FEM, subsumption reports, and stress reports. Other Responsibilities Support Stress Engineers IV and V. Support Engineers I and II. Assist in workflow process and supermarket carcass of medium complexity. Requirements Mechanical properties of materials knowledge. Static analysis experience. Fatigue analysis experience. Experience with CATIA V5 and SmartTeam. Finite Element Modeling knowledge (Patran/FEMAP). Travel availability required. Advanced English spoken and written, presentations, and negotiations.
