We are hiring: Project Cost Engineer – Chassis & Engine Systems (Automotive) We are looking for a Project Cost Engineer to join the Chassis & Engine Systems team supporting a leading global OEM. This role focuses on cost estimation, analysis, and optimization across key vehicle systems. Technical Scope Braking System (brake calipers, brake rotors, brake control unit) Exhaust System (hot end, cold end, fuel canister) Engine Cooling Module (radiator, condenser, air cooler, water cooler, thermal module) Develop detailed should-cost models for components and assemblies Perform bottom-up cost breakdowns , including raw materials, labor, overhead, scrap, logistics, and tooling Analyze manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forming, welding, and assembly to identify cost drivers Conduct supplier quotation analysis (RFQ) and validate commercial proposals Build and maintain cost databases and parametric estimation models Support design-to-cost (DTC) and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives Perform benchmarking using historical data, industry standards, and market intelligence Evaluate make vs. buy scenarios and sourcing strategies Estimate and track tooling and capital expenditures , including amortization models Monitor cost evolution across program phases (RFQ, sourcing, development, industrialization, production) Perform gap analysis vs. target cost and drive cost recovery actions Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to achieve cost targets Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in cost engineering or technical engineering Experience within OEM or Tier 1 automotive suppliers preferred Strong understanding of design, manufacturing processes, and cost analysis Experience with chassis, exhaust, or thermal systems is a plus Advanced Excel and cost modeling capabilities Intermediate English (professional working level) Details Location: Near Stellantis Santa Fe (Mexico City area) or open to relocation #J-18808-Ljbffr
