Responsibilities The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Purchasing team. This role will represent the Tactical Purchasing Organization in supplier and/or customer interactions and drive operational improvement through the implementation of best practices. Mentor and manage purchasing team leads to ensure optimum effectiveness while acting as a role model and projecting a positive attitude. This includes monitoring workload distribution among team members and allocating tasks appropriately. Evaluate employee potential, drive succession planning, and ensure team members receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. Ensure all Purchasing activities strictly adhere to company corporate policies and ethical sourcing standards. Maintain accountability for overall team performance regarding purchasing execution metrics, cost-savings initiatives, and delivery timelines. Lead the evaluation, selection, and negotiation of contracts, pricing, and payment terms with key vendors to optimize margins and reduce total cost of ownership. Monitor inventory levels and material requirements to prevent production shortages while avoiding overstock situations. Partner closely with Sales, Production, Logistics, and Finance teams to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. 5 or more years of related procurement or supply chain experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered. Advanced professional English proficiency (written and verbal) required for international vendor negotiations. Other Qualifications Strong MS Office skills with advanced knowledge of Excel. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) is highly desirable. Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills. Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively without constant direction. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across various functional business groups.
