Position Summary Merchandising analysts are internal consultants for the merchandising department. They provide the data for the line review process, track business results and team objectives, and monitor all of the team categories to ensure objectives are met. They provide a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions, develop business processes, and produce team reporting. The Senior Analyst is viewed as an expert in understanding and applying AutoZone data, advising and mentoring merch analysts, and serving as the team resource for market segmentation, positioning, and customer target data. Position Responsibilities (Business Analysis) Provides structure and numerical foundations to the Line Review process, managing the data to reveal business intelligence. (Data Processing) Identifies the business drivers, manages timely decision‑making, and develops a sense of business and internal/external client understanding. (Solutions Development) Proposes, designs, and develops processes, models, and business solutions that promote a culture of innovation, productivity, and efficiency. (Support) Ensures and empowers the correct functioning of the technological platform to support the operation of information tools (Reporting, Applications, data integration) for optimal performance. (Coaching) Coaches, develops, and supports analysts in the Merch team to enhance technical skills and understanding of the group’s business, fostering teamwork. Position Requirements Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Area of Study: Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, or comparable field. (Management, BA in Actuarial Science). Years of Experience: Three to five years. Type of Experience: Three to five years in an analytical role with sufficient experience in other areas to demonstrate a thorough understanding of retailing.
