The Mechanical Integrity Specialist is a key member of AGT product development projects; focused on developing and improving analytical understanding of critical gas turbine rotating parts. Day-to-day activities include the building of analysis models using bespoke and commercial FE analysis software, solution of models to support product attribute understanding and resolution of key product issues and opportunities. You will actively contribute in group forums to establish appropriate best practice and tactics to overcome analytical and program challenges, together with providing frequent project progress updates. How You’ll Make an Impact Work individually or as part of a team to perform stress, lifing, and integrity analyses at both system and sub-system levels. Collaborate closely with design and manufacturing specialists to support component manufacture, engine life management, and ensure technical consistency. Contribute to the mentoring, technical guidance, and professional development of junior engineers within the mechanical integrity department. Identify opportunities to build on prior knowledge and past experience when developing and optimizing technical solutions. Advise product management on understanding and managing technical risk levels associated with in-service issues and component reliability. Participate in or lead root cause analyses in response to field failures, and conduct or audit detailed technical reviews of models, stress analyses, and lifing reports. What You Bring Possess experience with Finite Element analysis software, preferably Abaqus and/or SC03. Have prior industry experience, ideally including analytical skills such as fatigue, damage tolerance, and integrity assessments. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills in advanced English, with the ability to produce accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports. Be motivated to work as part of a multi-disciplinary analytical team and collaborate effectively across functions. Show a strong interest in gas turbine technology, its evolution through the energy transition, and enthusiasm for creating innovative engineering solutions. About the Team In the Analytical Skills department of the Core Engineering function, we are committed to providing high quality technical work in support of AGT programmes.
