As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Coordinator of Engineering to streamline our processes. The Role We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead, coordinate, and execute infrastructure projects, including the installation and commissioning of new industrial equipment and support systems (utilities). Each project is delivered on time, within budget, with the required quality, and in compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations. They will manage the entire project lifecycle, from planning through closeout, ensuring proper integration of equipment into Birdman’s operations. Responsibilities Ensure effective execution of industrial projects Guarantee safe installations in compliance with applicable regulations Execute proper commissioning of new equipment Optimize resources and reduce departmental costs Ensure technical documentation and information control Actively collaborate with all departments Ensure technical quality in procurement of equipment and services Develop standardization and continuous improvement in projects Prepare work plans, schedules, budgets, and project scopes Execute and supervise installation projects Ensure compliance with established timelines, costs, and quality standards Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal staff for proper execution Review mechanical, electrical, and process drawings (P&IDs, layouts, flow diagrams) Generate or update technical documentation: calculation reports, layouts, diagrams, manuals, installation and validation protocols Develop technical specifications for procurement of equipment and services Support technical evaluation of suppliers Ensure compliance with internal standards, industrial regulations, and electrical, mechanical, and environmental safety requirements Ensure installation of critical equipment (dust collectors, fillers, encapsulators) complies with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) applicable to the dietary supplements industry Coordinate risk assessments, work permits, and safety analyses (Job Safety Analysis - JSA) Supervise installation, alignment, calibration, and functional testing Coordinate initial commissioning and functional validation Develop checklists, FAT/SAT protocols, and final acceptance reports Train operators and maintenance technicians on basic operation and care of new equipment Monitor weekly project progress and report KPIs to the Maintenance and Projects Manager Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and cost control Resolve deviations, risks, and scope changes Ensure formal closure of each project and handover to Operations team Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Experience 3+ years of experience in project engineering team coordination or leadership roles At least 3 years in the food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industry Solid experience in project management, production process design, and continuous improvement Application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies Knowledge of project management methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile Technical Skills Design and improvement of production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste Advanced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen Time and motion analysis to optimize resource allocation and reduce idle time Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ERP systems, MS Project, Asana, Power BI, and advanced Excel Strong command of quality and safety management systems, with experience in certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or FSSC 22000 Experience with GMP applicable to food, pharmaceutical or supplements industry Familiarity with operation and maintenance of encapsulators, mixers, fillers, sealers, and labeling machines Technical knowledge for calculating equipment operating variables Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Full-time Job Function Manufacturing Industries Food and Beverage Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Birdman by 2x Get notified about new Project Engineer jobs in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico - MX$55,000.00-MX$60,000.00, 1 month ago #J-18808-Ljbffr
