Job Description Primary Function of Position Under the general supervision of the Materials Management Director, the Senior Warehouse Manager is responsible for providing both daily tactical direction and strategic vision for all warehousing operations. This position oversees warehouse personnel and administers all aspects of warehouse operations and Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), including inventory management functions related to receiving, put-away, supermarket, work-in-progress (WIP), tool crib, and indirect materials and 3PL Management. Hire, train, develop, and motivate warehouse personnel to follow procedures, meet high quality standards, production schedules, operations dept goals, and productivity requirements. Supervises a team of managers and individual contributors with functional responsibility for performing ongoing receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, replenishment route running, tool crib and indirect material. Maintain documented procedures to define Receiving, Material Movement and Storage, Kitting for direct and indirect material responsibilities, same as Tool Crib. Ensure that optimal inventory levels of commodities are maintained to meet production requirements. Estimate current and future Warehouse capacity requirements. Responsible to manage FIFO strategies to assure the correct consumption of the material. Ensure that company procedures, including SOX and FDA requirements, are understood and adhered to. Evaluate and provide annual performance feedback to direct reports along with interim counseling to ensure performance criteria are being met. Conducts analysis as required to investigate and determine root cause of compliance, quality or other performance failures and implements corrective actions as warranted. Oversees operational inventory transactions to maintain accurate inventory. Works and communicates directly with Finance and functional management to develop and meet operational budgets for headcount, depreciation, and cost center spending. Interface with and support: manufacturing, quality control, purchasing, finance, planning, and departments related. Ensures all staff members receive and remain current with designated training requirements as necessary to perform responsibilities. Establish and maintain multi-plant inventory levels goals and replenishment shipments. Maintain data in compliance with SOX and regulatory controls including records for timeliness and accuracy of inventory cycle count. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience 10 + years of experience working in a warehouse environment associated with a production facility. Experience in Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)is preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and supervise operational management teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience with MRP, Agile & ERP systems, preferably SAP. Experience with high volume manufacturing or Distribution Company. Lean manufacturing/materials implementation and use of kanban principles, Six Sigma background and knowledge is also highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess strong organizational skills to meet deadlines, assist staff in prioritizing work and handle multiple projects. Must be able to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine issues. Works independently with minimal supervision in a cross-functional setting. Experienced with organizing unstructured data to support proposals or operational plans. Ability to handle conflict well and give positive and negative feedback along with managing performance issues. Skilled in MS Office suite, WMS, Access and/or SQL database experience. Maintain status as a certified forklift operator (training and certification process provided by ISI) Required Education and training BS degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or related field. APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification preferred. Project management/Six Sigma training is preferred Working Conditions 20% Travel required may be required. Work involves working in Warehouse environments consisting of rapidly moving conveyance equipment, less than optimum lighting and adverse temperature variations and conditions May require stooping, lifting, reaching in performance of daily tasks. Preferred Skills and Experience Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) experience. S4Hana/EWM experience. AI Integration as it applies to Inventory Control and WH operations.
