As a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Offshore) , you’ll lead the basic and detailed engineering of offshore platforms for crude oil and/or gas extraction—ensuring technical integrity, design safety, constructability, and seamless multidisciplinary integration from concept to commissioning. Purpose of the role In this role, you will own the mechanical scope for complex offshore facilities. You’ll coordinate and guide engineers and designers, validate mechanical deliverables, interface with vendors and construction teams, and drive compliant, sustainable designs that perform in severe marine environments. Core responsibilities Lead mechanical engineering across basic and detailed design for offshore platforms (topsides, modules, packages). Coordinate and guide Level I & II Engineers ; plan resources, manage engineering hours, and review/approve team deliverables. Develop and validate design calculations, simulations, and programming for pressure equipment and packages (e.g., vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, drivers, ancillary equipment). Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for packaged equipment and rotating/static equipment. Execute design for constructability, commissioning, operations, and maintenance ; support field design and site clarifications. Perform and/or review 3D modeling , clash mitigation, and integration with other disciplines (Process, Piping, Marine, Electrical & Instrumentation, Construction). Lead vendor document reviews (drawings, calculations, procedures), pre‑manufacturing meetings , and inspection/testing (witness) as required. Participate in squad checks and ensure compatibility of mechanical deliverables with other disciplines. Monitor scope changes/RFIs/technical deviations and recommend adjustments to protect quality, schedule, and cost. Skills & experience More than 12 years of mechanical engineering experience in offshore basic and detailed design (oil & gas platforms). Experience in offshore projects is mandatory (MUST). Demonstrated experience across offshore facilities: topsides & facilities, subsea/offshore pipelines, marine risers, SURF, floating systems . Advanced design capability for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, drivers, ancillary equipment . Strong track record in package engineering , equipment specification/procurement, and vendor coordination. Comfortable working in severe marine environments and managing complex multidisciplinary interfaces. Codes & standards Advanced knowledge of ASME, API, TEMA, EJMA, ASCE 7, IEEE, NFPA 101, IBC ; familiarity with client/operator requirements. Software & tools Proficiency with pressure equipment and exchanger tools (e.g., HTRI, HTFS ) and advanced MS Excel . Experience with 3D modeling and common CAD ecosystems; AutoCAD or MicroStation . (Nice to have) Experience reviewing calculations and reports from major analysis packages. Technical leadership, high engineering judgment, and problem‑solving at pace. Resource planning, scope control, and disciplined delivery against milestones. Strong written and verbal communication; effective stakeholder management. Quality‑driven mindset with rigor in compliance and documentation. Languages English: Minimum B2 (speaking, reading, writing, technical communication).
