Project Brief We are partnering with a global healthcare IT consulting firm — a recognized leader in Epic implementation and support — to build a nearshore delivery hub in Mexico and Costa Rica. The Epic Bridges Engineer is the only true engineering role in this engagement — responsible for designing, building, and supporting the integration interfaces that connect Epic with external healthcare systems such as labs, radiology, pharmacies, and third-party vendors. This is a technically demanding role at the core of how hospital data flows. Must‑Haves Epic Bridges certification or strong hands‑on experience building and supporting Epic integration interfaces Solid knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards — ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, SIU message types Experience with FHIR and API‑based integrations in healthcare environments Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, and interface validation Experience monitoring interface queues, troubleshooting failed messages, and ensuring data integrity across systems Strong English proficiency — professional‑level verbal and written communication for daily work with US‑based teams and hospital clients Based in Mexico or Costa Rica, available to work full‑time from a secure, on‑site office Valid US visa or passport — travel to Madison, Wisconsin for Epic certification training is required Nice to Have Experience with interface engines: Corepoint, InterSystems HealthShare, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf Background in healthcare system implementations, go‑live support, or interoperability projects Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security standards Experience working with US‑based clients or in a nearshore delivery model Knowledge of other EHR platforms (Cerner, Allscripts) and their integration patterns Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Software Engineering, or a related field What You Will Do Design, build, test, and support Epic Bridges integration interfaces connecting Epic to external systems — labs, radiology, pharmacies, HIEs, and third‑party vendors Monitor interface queues, troubleshoot failed or erroneous messages, and resolve data flow issues in a timely manner Ensure data integrity across all integrated systems and maintain compliance with healthcare data standards Collaborate with internal Epic application teams and external vendors to scope and deliver integration solutions Support system implementations, upgrades, and post‑go‑live interface optimization Develop and maintain technical documentation for all interfaces and integration workflows Represent the engagement professionally in all interactions with hospital clients and technical stakeholders Why You'll Want This Role The only engineering seat in a high‑stakes healthcare engagement — this is a specialized, high‑value position. Bridges engineers are rare and carry significant weight in the client relationship. Real interoperability challenges — you'll be building the data infrastructure that makes hospital systems talk to each other. HL7, FHIR, and interface engine work at enterprise scale. Get Epic Bridges‑certified, on us — the client sponsors full certification in Verona, Wisconsin for qualified candidates, including travel and logistics. Scale with the team — this engagement is projected to grow from 8–10 analysts in Year 1 to 100+ by Year 2. Engineers who join early will have a natural path to technical leadership.
