Overview The IT Business Unit Senior Manager is accountable for managing complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas. They lead and direct a team of professionals, combining in-depth technical understanding with commercial awareness to deliver a full range of services across businesses and geographic regions. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, policy formulation, and performance evaluation, with a focus on meeting or exceeding service level agreements and driving compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities Act as Chief of Staff to ensure strategy is implemented appropriately. Collaborate with IT functional/departmental executives and business leaders to create the business plan for IT. Scan external IT environment to provide common planning assumptions. Manage internal communications, mergers & acquisitions, and outsourcing activities. Ensure business unit meets or exceeds SLA components and resolves complex issues with substantial impact. Apply deep knowledge of own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve cross‑functional issues. Integrate own sub‑function within technology, demonstrating commercial awareness. Lead and manage a team, including people, budget, planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations, using multiple sources of information. Drive planning, budgeting, and financial management for the area and contribute to strategic decisions. Persuade and influence stakeholders through communication and diplomacy; negotiate with external parties when necessary. Assess risk for business decisions, safeguarding the firm’s reputation and assets, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Manage the Markets Risk functional area, executing strategic plans, and leading people, budget, and performance evaluation. Develop, define, and implement technology projects to meet Markets Risk area strategies and goals, including integration with solutions such as Murex. Create new concepts and approaches for incident resolution, resiliency improvements, and meeting business requirements. Work across functions to achieve objectives, negotiate with peers, and communicate with external parties and regulators as needed. Maintain service levels, resolve complex issues, and ensure continuous improvement in technology solutions. Qualifications 10+ years experience in technology planning and development for Financial Markets solutions, with 5–8+ years in people management. Proven ability to use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem‑solving techniques. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Soft skills to partner and influence across organizational lines. Experience in budget management, risk & control management, and influencing skills. Proactivity, decisiveness, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Education Bachelor’s or university degree in Information Technology or related field (equivalent experience acceptable). Master’s degree preferred.
