This role is a key contributor to the company’s integral tax strategy, partnering closely with Finance and business leaders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support informed decision‑making. The position offers meaningful exposure across tax planning, compliance, and advisory work, including responsibility for complex cross‑border and manufacturing‑related tax matters such as maquiladora operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the full scope of tax activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and filing requirements across relevant jurisdictions. Execute the company’s tax strategy, balancing compliance, risk management, and business objectives. Provide subject matter expertise on maquiladora tax structures, including compliance, transfer pricing considerations, permanent establishment risk, and coordination with local and global stakeholders. Oversee tax planning, research, compliance, reporting, filings, and audits, including interaction with tax authorities as needed. Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, including those related to cross border manufacturing, intercompany transactions, and evolving regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax returns, declarations, and required reports. Manage tax related policies, practices, and transactions to ensure consistent adherence to regulatory and internal control standards. Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing tax guidance, planning support, and technical expertise. Select, manage, and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and consultants, including firms supporting maquiladora and international tax matters. Lead and develop a high performing tax team, ensuring consistent execution of the tax strategy and continuous professional development. Set clear goals, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews. Oversee team deliverables, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and overall control and compliance activities. General Responsibilities Manage a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe. Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise. Identify and mitigate tax risks. Manage tax‑related activities in accordance with the tax strategy to ensure the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives. Manage activities, policies, practices, and transactions to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Ensure all tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports are submitted accurately and on time. Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and advisors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Develop various activities that may include tax planning, research, compliance, reporting and filings, auditing, and communicating with external tax agencies. Manage a team to ensure the organization’s tax strategy is implemented accurately and consistently and in compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Develop goals and prepare performance assessments annually, in a timely manner. Manages team activities, such as, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and overall control compliance. Experience / Qualifications A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. Must be a team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands. Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation. Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results. Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity. Holds self‑accountable to achieving goals and standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
