Role Overview The Business Analyst – IT Systems Analyst (Data Interchange) is responsible for assembling, analyzing, and representing business requirements for the Data Interchange needs of Clarios, LLC. The analyst acts as a trusted partner to the business community, understanding current processes and designing innovative solutions that improve business efficiency. Tasks include gathering requirements, designing IT solutions, writing specifications, training end users, and validating and testing new functionality while following a formal SDLC methodology in a SOX‑compliant environment. What You’ll Do Translate business needs into solutions by defining application problems, eliciting and documenting requirements, developing solution designs, and establishing specifications aligned across business and IT groups. Apply ERP & EDI expertise to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks, working with core EDI documents (850, 830, 862, 856, 810) and additional customer‑specific requirements. Handle mapping and specifications: interpret customer EDI mapping guidelines and Clarios ERP flat‑file specifications, verifying custom shipping‑label designs and barcodes. Coordinate development & data setup: manage EDI and ERP development teams/consultants, partner with application support, infrastructure, and application management on solution design, and coordinate master‑data setup and ERP configuration before testing. Drive testing & training: collaborate with developers, lead result validation by developing test cases, guide testers through QA, and train and support stakeholders. Lead projects & relationships: manage multiple projects, maintain documentation, manage scope and schedules, set daily priorities, follow escalation paths, run status meetings, and act as a liaison between business and IT. Improve quality & adoption: focus on data management, recommend process improvements, support system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements, and communicate ideas to senior management while negotiating stakeholder needs. Success Criteria Clear, well‑documented business requirements and specifications aligned across business and IT; reliable Data Interchange solutions delivered on time within a formal SDLC and SOX‑compliant environment; successful testing cycles with solid test cases and trained end users; strong trusted relationships across business, IT, customers, and suppliers; measurable gains in business efficiency, solution adoption, and customer satisfaction. Core Competencies ERP systems expertise (QAD EE or SAP) and Data Interchange/EDI in a manufacturing environment. Business analysis: requirements elicitation, pattern recognition, solution design, and functional specifications. Test design and execution leadership (test cases, test plans, QA guidance). Project management and cross‑functional coordination. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder negotiation up to senior management. Problem‑solving and analytical thinking with a quality and data‑management focus. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, IT, or a related field from an accredited university. Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Interchange, Transportation, and Supply Chain functions. Proven ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, develop solution designs, and create test cases and test plans. Experience working on large‑scale projects and handling day‑to‑day operational requests. Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, build relationships, and communicate effectively. Understanding of processes, system fundamentals, and analytical data. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and leadership skills. Preferred: Experience with ERP platforms, particularly QAD or SAP.
