Position Summary The Team Member is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks, while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts and be able to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs. Deliver on our promise of Legendary Customer Service through GURA:Greet the Customer. Uncover Customer's Needs & Wants. Recommend Product Solutions. Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer. Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures as established by Tractor Supply Company. Recovery of merchandise. Participate in mandatory freight process. Complete Plan‑o‑gram procedures (merchandising, sets, and resets). Assemble merchandise. Perform janitorial duties. Execute price changes/markdowns. Operate forklift (unless under the age of 18). Operate cardboard baler (unless under the age of 18). Assist customers with loading purchases. Ensure the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition. Ensure the safety and well-being of birds; sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required. Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications No experience required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately, regardless of education level. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict. Ability to read, write, count, communicate effectively with team members, and process information through the point‑of‑sale system. Ability to handle, be in contact with, and care for birds/poultry. Ability to complete required training and certifications, including propane dispensing for eligible individuals. Working Conditions Work is predominantly indoors on moderate noise levels and hard surfaces. Schedule varies but generally exceeds 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. A safe and productive environment is maintained in accordance with company safety training and guidelines. Physical Requirements Move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment. Occasionally lift or reach overhead. Frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders. Move throughout the store throughout an entire shift. Access all store areas safely. Operate all necessary equipment such as computer, cash register, forklift, baler, and hand truck (forklift and baler excluded for those under 18). Read, write, count accurately to complete documentation. Communicate effectively with team members using strong written and verbal skills. Process merchandise through the point‑of‑sale system.
