## DG BOSS: Heavy Equipment Operator (FN)Applylocations: Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territorytime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R **Title:**DG BOSS: Heavy Equipment Operator (FN)* Operates and maintains a variety of heavy vehicles and other equipment.* Loads and unloads supplies and equipment from ships, docks, warehouses, and motor vehicles, and moves hazardous materials as required.* Operates all types of Construction/Heavy Equipment for Base Support such as bulldozers, graders, bucket loaders, backhoes, sweepers, water distributor trucks, ditching machines, auger trucks, road rollers, transit mixer trucks, etc.* Equipment is used to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or non-hazardous and hazardous materials.* Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.* Performs pre-service maintenance checks and indicates findings.* Records malfunctions of other items requiring attention as observed during the working day.* Records the number of gallons of fuel issued to the equipment while in his custody.* Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.* Observes and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.* Performs other duties and activities as directed.**Basic Qualifications*** Ability to operate heavy equipment.* Considerable knowledge and skill in the operation and servicing of various automotive and complex construction equipment.* Considerable knowledge of the hazards involved in equipment operation and the safety precautions necessary.* Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, and checking oil and water levels.* Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.* Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.* Must have a valid country of origin Professional Driver’s License with the following license codes (B, B1, B2, C, D, BE, and CE) and be able to operate the assigned vehicles.**Preferred Qualifications****JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING*** Must be fully qualified and capable of being certified IAW NAVFAC P-300.* Completed any of the following Heavy Equipment Operation training and certification is highly desired:* Heavy Equipment Operation (Backhoe Loader)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Bulldozer)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Transit Mixer Truck)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Forklift)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Motor Grader)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Wheel Loader)* Heavy Equipment Operation (On-Highway Dump Truck - Rigid)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Hydraulic Excavator)* Heavy Equipment Operation (Road Roller**EDUCATION:*** Must have at least a High School diploma, Technical or Vocational course Graduate is required.**EXPERIENCE:*** Must have at least five (5) years of experience as Heavy Equipment Operator and in-plant operations.#J-18808-Ljbffr
